1-Day Tour to Machu Picchu by Train
On this 1-day excursion to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, you will experience unique and unforgettable moments, traveling by tourist train through imposing landscapes filled with magic and adventure.
Machu Picchu is an Inca citadel located high in the Andes Mountains of Peru, overlooking the Urubamba River valley. It was built in the 15th century and later abandoned, and is famous for its sophisticated dry-stone walls that fit together enormous blocks without the use of mortar, its fascinating buildings related to astronomical alignments, and its panoramic views. Its exact use remains a mystery.
ITINERARY
Our transport will pick you up from Cusco at approximately 3:00 AM to take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo. You will board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes.
Next, you will board the Concettur transportation that will take you to the Machu Picchu site, where you will enter with our guide. The tour will start with the main areas of the great Historical Sanctuary, with a guided visit lasting approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, followed by free time for photos.
Finally, you will need to take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. You will have time to have lunch on your own, and then you will go to the train station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
At Ollantaytambo, our transport will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco.
