Day 1 / FULL DAY
ISLAS BALLESTAS
Arrive at the tourist pier where we will start our excursion to the Ballestas Islands, the largest marine reserve in Peru and the second largest in South America. This tour will be conducted in a speedboat, with each participant provided with life jackets and maintaining adequate distancing from others. Along the way, you will see the Candelabra, a large geoglyph similar to the Nasca Lines. These islands are natural rock formations that host significant marine fauna, including large colonies of guano birds (such as guanay, boobies, pelicans, cormorants, etc.), as well as sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and dolphins.
LUNCH
Arrive in Ica for a free time lunch. Enjoy some local dishes such as “The Pisco Route,” arroz con pato (rice with duck), dry soup, and other traditional plates.
VISIT TO NIETTO PISCO WINERY AND TASTING
We will tour the winery to learn about the production of good wine, followed by a tasting session of wines, creams, macerates, and piscos, which are available for purchase.
VISIT TO HUACACHINA LAGOON AND DUNES
This lagoon is said to have originated from the tears of a beautiful woman with green eyes, surrounded by dunes and palm trees. The lagoon has many legends to tell. Enjoy free time to explore and taste local treats such as chocotejas (chocolate-covered caramels), tejas, and shop for handicrafts.
ARRIVAL IN CHINCHA / BODEGA GARRAFON
