The South Valley Tour allows you to explore notable tourist attractions such as Andahuaylillas, often called the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” for its stunning colonial church; the ancient town of Andahuaylillas; Pikillacta, the best-preserved archaeological site of the Wari culture; and Tipón, known for its advanced hydraulic engineering technology and as a place of water worship. This site features enclosures, terraces, agricultural platforms, and other impressive structures.
ITINERARY
This tour begins with pick-up from your hotel around 8:00 to 8:30 AM.
We will then depart by bus towards the south of Cusco, where you will enjoy beautiful landscapes along the way.
The first stop will be the Tipón Archaeological Center, an Inca ceremonial site where the flow of water was controlled through a stone canal.
Next, we will visit the Pikillacta Archaeological Complex, the best-preserved archaeological site of the Wari culture.
Finally, we will conclude the journey with a visit to the beautiful Andahuaylillas Church, a small Colonial gem known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.” Inside, you will find an impressive collection of canvases with gold leaf frames, mural paintings, and baroque-style altarpieces.
We will return to the city of Cusco around 2:30 PM.
